About This Spot

Stepping into Casa Carlos, you immediately sense the gentle hum of a genuine neighborhood gathering spot tucked away in the heart of Asturias. The space feels warm and unhurried, where time slows just enough for conversations to unfold naturally and for the comforting rhythm of daily life to pulse quietly in the background. Whether nestled inside the cozy dining room or outside where the fresh air drifts by, there’s a steady flow of locals who clearly regard this place as their go-to refuge from the world’s fast pace.

This is a restaurant that carries the unmistakable charm of simplicity and authenticity. It’s not about spectacle but about connection — between people, place, and tradition. As dishes arrive, you find yourself drawn not just to their generous portions but to their earthy, honest flavors that speak of Asturian roots and home kitchens. The menu unfolds like a story told in familiar, satisfying notes: rustic bites that might include a lovingly prepared cachopo, rich beans simmered into fabada, or tender seafood dressed in garlic and olive oil. Each plate invites you to slow down and savor both its texture and the hands that made it.

The atmosphere here is easy and unpretentious, with a few servers gracefully balancing attentiveness with warmth, making you feel seen without ever rushing or hovering. It’s a place where families linger, friends catch up, and travelers find a quiet corner to soak in something real and unfiltered. The feeling is one of a shared meal rather than a fleeting stop, where the mood is cozy yet vibrant — the kind of spot where you might come early for your morning café con leche or settle into lingering drinks as the evening unfolds at its own pace.

Casa Carlos is a quietly joyful discovery for those who appreciate spaces shaped by local rhythms and heartfelt hospitality. Here, meals are part of everyday life, generous in spirit and size, and seasoned with the kind of care that invites you to return not just for the food, but for the sense of belonging it effortlessly cultivates.

Obviously a place where the locals eat. Cozy atmosphere. One waitress to take care of the whole place but she managed to take great care of us. The good was delicious and portions were large.

Good and generous daily menu's. Ask to be seated at the 'comedor': less noisy and warmer (in winter) than the main room

As a tourist, make sure you get a reservation in advance - if you don’t speak Spanish, ask your accommodation contact to make the reservation for you. We had drinks in the evening. It has a nice family atmosphere

A little café where I stopped for a café con leché whilst on my morning ride. I didn't eat anything so I can't comment on the food. Plenty of seating including an outdoor area (where I sat). My café con leché grande was €1.40; excellent value.

AMAZING FOOD, GREAT PEOPLE. (I’m biased because the chef and waiters are all cousins of my wife, so I’ve known and loved them for thirty years.) In summer you must reserve, because they are in high demand.
